Continue reading to learn how massage helps your mind, body and soul.
Massage is a whole-body therapy that supports both physical and mental well-being. With consistent sessions, massage helps regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Over time, the body learns to relax more easily, allowing tension patterns to release before they become chronic pain.
Regular massage can also reduce stress hormones, support better sleep, improve focus, and enhance emotional resilience. As the mind settles, the body responds with greater mobility, decreased pain, and improved overall function. When practiced consistently, massage becomes a preventative and restorative form of care, helping the body maintain balance rather than simply reacting to discomfort.
At Zaniya, our massage therapists recognize that no two bodies are the same, and no two sessions should be either. Each massage is thoughtfully tailored to the individual, taking into account your body’s structure, tension patterns, health history, and personal goals. Whether your focus is pain relief, stress reduction, recovery, or relaxation, techniques are adjusted in pressure, pace, and approach to support your unique needs.
By listening closely to your body and your feedback, our therapists create a personalized experience that evolves over time. As your body changes, so does the work—ensuring each session remains effective, intentional, and aligned with your desired outcomes.
Too much pressure? Not enough? Want more focus work on a particular area? Table too cold? We encourage feedback so we can give you the best session possible!

• Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage that helps move excess fluid and waste through the body, reducing swelling and supporting immune health. (schedule with Grace)
• Fire cupping is a therapeutic technique where heated cups create suction on the skin, helping to increase circulation, release muscle tension & trigger points, and promote healing. (schedule with Grace or Carla)
• Guided meditation and somatic facilitation support clients in listening to the subtle languages of body, emotion and mind. Through this attunement, tension may soften and previously held patterns can begin to shift. The awareness cultivated during a session is something clients can return to in their daily lives, extending the work beyond the table. (schedule with Izumi)
• Dry needling is a therapeutic technique where thin, sterile needles are inserted into tight muscles or trigger points to release tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Unlike acupuncture, it targets muscle tissue directly to promote healing and restore normal function. Lydia can incorporate dry needling into her sessions or as a stand-alone service. (schedule with Lydia)
• Medical Massage is a targeted therapy for chronic pain or musculoskeletal issues (carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, thoracic outlet syndrome, etc) using clinical techniques to relieve pain, improve function, and support rehabilitation. The first session includes an assessment, goal setting, and documentation for insurance submission if applicable.
(schedule with Jon, Carla or Lydia)
Frequency will depend on your health goals. For general maintenance we suggest monthly. For an acute injury, chronic inflammation, nagging headaches your therapist might recommend weekly treatments until symptoms subside, then reduce to monthly.
- If you are sick or have a fever within the last 24-48 hrs we kindly ask you to wait.
- If you have had a vaccine, massage can push the serum farther into the body faster than designed and you may experience flu-like symptoms. For this reason we ask you to wait 3-5 days after your vaccine.
- DVT - massage could dislodge the clot
- Severe cardiovascular conditions – uncontrolled hypertension, aneurysms, or recent heart attack
- Recent major surgery – depending on the surgery, we kindly ask for 4-12 weeks post-op and/or a medical clearance from your doctor
- Cancer - Chemotherapy and/or radiation - please call to discuss with your therapist
- Unstable or uncontrolled medical conditions – such as severe diabetes, seizures, or respiratory distress
Unfortunately we do not bill insurance companies directly. If your insurance will cover massage, or if you have a medical referral from your doctor, we can send you a receipt for reimbursement.
We do, however, accept HSA cards.
Although it is not our intent to make you sore, post-massage soreness is quite possible. Make sure you are adequately hydrated before and after your appointment. Please discuss post-massage soreness with your therapist if you have experienced this before and wish to lessen the discomfort in the future.
Massage should never hurt past your comfort level. We like to say ... hurts so good is good, but please let us know if our techniques hurt past your pain level 7.
