Zaniya is the Lakota word for "health" or "in good health". It is more than just a word. It is a state of being or a way of life. "Be well in health"

: Meaning :

The world is a better place when we are in harmony with not only our surroundings but with our bodies.

At The Zaniya Center, everything we do is centered around you. We believe wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all, and everyone’s journey looks a little different. Our goal is to create a space where you feel welcomed, supported, and safe to slow down, reconnect, and care for your whole self—body, mind, and spirit.

Through personalized care and a variety of natural therapies, we meet you where you are and support you as you move toward feeling more balanced, calm, and fulfilled. Whether you’re here to relax, heal, or simply take a break from the noise of everyday life, we’re honored to be part of your path to greater health and happiness.

Zaniya

After sitting in front of a computer for corporate America for 16 years, I did something I swore I would never do again: went back to school. 9 years ago I graduated with high honors with an associate degree in massage therapy and I couldn't be happier. Between scoliosis and computer posture from my past job I can relate to my clients' pain.  When I'm not at the office or working from home, I am most likely outside tending to my plants, exploring with my trusty dog, Sarge, or enjoying nights under stars in my camper. The healing part of my soul is naturally attracted to nature and am currently studying herbalism.

I love bringing people together and helping them find Their Full Circle Of Care.

Hi there. I'm Carla.

Hi there. I'm Carla.

I enjoy being a part of the wonderful team here.  Floating has really helped my healing journey and my mental health as well. Being able to free my mind from the overflow of extra noise and aid in my growth has helped me to become a better mom and person over all.

I am a single mom raising 4 amazing kids and our dog Ruby. My family and I really love going to music events and One Fest is our favorite. I also am a Childrens Leader at my church and I am so excited to see them grow and learn. I also enjoy being a part of all the out reaches that we do. Some of my favorite things to do are: baking, making sourdough anything and homemade jam, playing cribbage as well as other games, and most importantly spending quality time with my kids. I hope to be able to help others in meaningful ways.

Hi there. I'm Theresa.

Wellness cordinator : 2 yrs

I started out as a client of Carla’s in 2018. I saw the dedication and compassion she had towards her work and I wanted to be a part of that! In Sept of ‘22, I was hired as a part time Wellness Coordinator; taking care of those “behind the scene” things. After working here a few months, I decided I wanted to offer more. I started foot reflexology as another holistic modality. I’m very grateful for this opportunity take on clients of my own, to help with relaxation, stress reduction and an overall sense of well being.

I have been a practicing massage therapist since I graduated from PHD Academy in 2022. I've completed extra training in Lymphatic Drainage massage, which allows me to help inflammation, swelling, post surgical and cancer clients. I like to use a blend of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Lymphatic Drainage techniques to tailor each session to the specific needs of the client. I strive to facilitate the body to help itself, easing tension and promoting relaxation and healing.

Izumi perceives her massage practice to move in spirals, curving around rhythms of release and renewal. To her, the healing process involves reintroducing movement into areas of stagnation— letting go of pain that is ready to be released, opening to new possibilities.

Izumi enjoys engaging language and techniques that attune to the client’s ever-changing state. She shifts between general relaxation and deep tissue, guided meditation and warm conversation, somatic facilitation and silence. Rather than envisioning healing as a cure to be found at the end of a path, she views healing as the path itself— the unfolding, the process, the becoming. She is grateful for every invitation to walk beside clients in that path.

Hi there. I'm Izumi.

I transitioned from the military after 11 years to be closer to my family and pursue new opportunities. After graduating from PHD Academy, I committed myself to supporting those around me. I aspire to foster resilience and connection among my fellow veterans and neighbors, helping individuals regain balance and find comfort in their lives.

In my practice, I combine Swedish and Deep Tissue massage with Myofascial Release and Muscle Energy Techniques to help clients achieve their unique goals.

Lydia moved back home to Wisconsin after graduating from physical therapy school to begin her career, combining her experience as a licensed massage therapist with her new knowledge and skills as a physical therapist. She has many interests, including the treatment of scoliosis, headaches, TMJD, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

In her free time, you can find her walking her dogs, cooking with her partner, crocheting, and training calisthenics. Lydia seeks to understand why and how massage/physical therapy techniques are effective, and is grateful for the opportunity to share this knowledge at the Zaniya Center!
