Physical Therapy & Dry Needling for Targeted Pain Relief and Recovery

Physical Therapy & Dry Needling

The goal of physical therapy is to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore function so you can get back to doing what you love to do. Following a thorough assessment, your physical therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan to address your specific concern(s). Interventions may include one or more of the following: targeted exercises/stretches, manual techniques, dry needling, and education.

Integrated Approach

Lydia offers a uniquely integrated approach as both a licensed physical therapist and licensed massage therapist. She offers massage therapy and physical therapy as standalone services, but commonly combines her skillsets to provide comprehensive care within a single session. To schedule with Lydia, or If you are unsure about which type of appointment would be best for you, please send an email to Lydia@GrubenPT.com.

Note: Lydia is not an enrolled provider with any insurance companies, but in some cases may be able to provide you with a receipt so that you may try for reimbursement from your insurance company on your own.

Physical Therapy: Restoring Movement, Strength, and Function

PT Support

Some of the many conditions that can benefit from physical therapy:

✓ Trigger Points (muscle knots)
✓ TMJ
✓ Shoulder conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, impingement, and frozen shoulder
✓ Knee pain including meniscus injuries & ACL recovery
✓ Hip pain, labral issues, and post-joint replacement rehab
✓ Ankle sprains, Achilles tendinitis, and plantar fasciitis
✓ Tendonitis and repetitive strain injuries (tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow)
✓ Post-surgical recovery (joint replacements, orthopedic procedures)
✓ Balance disorders and fall-risk prevention
✓ Sports injuries and movement inefficiencies

Dry needling is a clinical technique that uses thin, sterile needles to relax tight muscles/ trigger points, improve blood flow, promote tissue healing, and reduce pain. It can also be used to treat some tendon and nerve conditions. Dry needling works by modulating inflammation, improving blood flow, reorganizing collagen, reducing muscle tension, and various neurochemical effects.

Dry needling can be performed during a massage as an add-on, during a physical therapy session, or as a standalone session. When physical therapy, massage, and dry needling are combined, they create a comprehensive, whole-body approach to healing and recovery. Together, these therapies work synergistically to reduce pain, restore movement, and create longer-lasting results by treating both the symptoms and the underlying causes of dysfunction.
