Frequently asked questions

Float Therapy

What is float therapy and how does it work

Float therapy involves lying in a tank filled with water that is super-saturated with Epsom salt, allowing you to float effortlessly. The water is kept at skin temperature, which, along with the soundproof and dark environment, helps to reduce sensory input and promote deep relaxation.

Who should not use float therapy?

People with open wounds, severe skin conditions, or those who have been advised by a doctor not to engage in swimming activities should avoid float therapy. Pregnant women should consult with their healthcare provider.

What should I expect for my first float?

For your first float at Zaniya Center, expect a serene and unique experience. Upon arrival, you’ll be guided through the process, ensuring your comfort and understanding. The float session involves lying in a specially designed vessel filled with a solution of water and Epsom salt, allowing you to float effortlessly. The environment is controlled for both temperature and sound, creating a space where you can relax deeply. It’s a time to disconnect from external stimuli and focus inward. You might experience a sense of weightlessness and profound relaxation. Post-float, you’ll likely feel refreshed and calm.

How should I prepare for float therapy?

To prepare, avoid caffeine and shave at least 24 hours before floating to prevent skin irritation. Eat a light meal about an hour beforehand so you’re not distracted by hunger.

How is the water in the float tank kept clean?

Not only is our water nearly sterile with 1100 pounds of epsom salt in 250 gallons of water, our filtration system is top notch. Our water cycles through a 1-micron filter and UV light sanitation at least 3 times between each client.

Our solution just as concentrated and just as clean as the dead sea. Dr Vore is a microbiologist specializing in recreational water facilities and is also on the Float Tank Association board. The following video features Dr Vore discussing germs and the probability of them living in the float water solution.

Can people with claustrophobia use float tanks?

At Zaniya Center, we understand that claustrophobia is a concern for some. That’s why we offer open float vessels, which provide a more spacious and less enclosed floating experience. These vessels are designed to alleviate feelings of confinement, making it easier for those worried about space or claustrophobia. Additionally, we have a handicap accessible room with a transfer chair, ensuring comfort and ease of access for all our guests. Our staff is always on hand to assist and make adjustments to ensure your comfort and peace of mind during the float session.

Are there any health concerns with Halotherapy/IR Sauna?

Consult with a healthcare provider before using Halotherapy/IR Sauna if you have any health concerns, especially heart conditions or high blood pressure.

OVER 30 VERIFIED 5-STAR REVIEWS,
GET READY FOR YOUR EXPERIENCE

I have suffered from migraines almost my entire life, especially in the last few years. After I did my first float, I was hooked. I have been able to relax and de-stress more efficiently and effectively than anything I have tried. This so far is one of the only things besides medication that has actually helped reduce the frequency of my migraines, especially when coupled with a massage and Chiropractic treatment.

This was my first time here and they welcomed me and accommodated my schedule in an amazing way. I had a wonderful massage and 60 minute float session that was beyond my expectations. I’m fascinated that with repetitive float therapy a person can obtain theta brain waves activity Which promotes learning and memory health as well. The session was great and I will be back!

I've done a lot of float therapy. Usually in those relatively small-ish "pods". I liked this place because you get a room with a larger float bath where you can really let your arms and legs go and not touch the sides. Great experience overall.

I did the 9 weekly floats and was truly amazed how much it helped me climb out of the darkness! This is something I plan to continue on a monthly basis (minimum!) I’ve recently used the revibe chair and will continue that as well, incredible! Relaxing message that really gets the knots out. All of these are an experience I would highly recommend for anyone whether dealing with mental health, physical health or just to get back to your center.
